Welcome to the DC Fair Food network!

We are a local network of allies that organize in solidarity with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) by working on a shared Campaign for Fair Food. DCFF represents many aspects and faces within the D.C. community: students from all the major universities, young people, faith leaders, the sustainable food community, and more. Based in Immokalee, Florida, the CIW is a community-based organization of mainly Latino, Mayan Indian and Haitian immigrants working in low-wage jobs throughout the state of Florida. The CIW, with the support of ally groups like D.C. Fair Food, is changing the face of agriculture and building a more just and sustainable food system!

Consciousness + Commitment = Change

Nosotros somos como los granos de quinoa: Si estamos solos, el viento lleva lejos. Pero si estamos unidos en un costal, nada hace el viento. Bamboleará, pero no nos hará caer.

We are like grains of quinoa: If we are alone, the wind will blow us far. But if we are united in a bundle, the wind does nothing. It will sway, but it will not make us fall.
